Really sad, no friends, feel like a loser
« on: March 11, 2014, 11:14:04 PM »
Hello,
I'm writing here because I just have no one to talk to in real life.
I have no friends, My family and I aren't speaking( even though we live in the same house), and my boyfriend broke up with me last month.
I have severe health and general anxiety. That's whats been causing trouble between me and my family.
I still depend on my family.

I'm always anxious and sad, I cant get a job because Im scared.
I feel so poorly about myself. I just have nothing to aspire to.
I havent spoken a word for 5 days.

It all started 3 years ago when I left school. I was fine then.
Any advise? Thanks

Pussinboots, I also deal with general anxiety.  I've started to go to meetup anxiety groups and met new friends.
I hope you find a breakthrough.  Fight for your happiness.  Your anxiety is a kind of illusion.  Your happiness is your real self.

Thank you,
Wish there were groups like that near where I live, I've always wanted to go to one.

Dear, all of these problems are caused directly or indirectly by your/our illness. As you work on it and make small improvements, they will get easier.

Hang in there and have faith that it will get easier with practice.

Hey there puss in boots, I like the nickname.  I have been in a similar place as you with my GAD.  Sometimes it feels like there is no one in the world for me.  Even if there was I used to feel like I would screw it up or my anxiety would be written all over my face like a neon sign.  One person who replied to you said the anxiety is kind of like an illusion.  That is quite accurate.  Anxiety can be like a magic pen that paints your world a special way, sometimes in a bad way.  My wife and I joke sometimes that we were the hunter-gatherers and our bodies are anxious because we don't have mastadons to kill.  Ha!  It often helps me to remember that I am unique in the world.  My successes and failures belong to me and no one can do them like me.

For me, it helps just to be myself, whatever that means on any given day.  For many people, the worst part about anxiety is pretending you don't have it or playing a part to the world.  Being yourself, no matter what that means can be freeing and take some of the burden off of you.

You are not a loser,  you are special unique and no one like you will ever exist again.  People out there will connect to that.

I wish you luck and success, you are not alone!
Peace
