Chest pain, Muscle strain/pulled?
« on: March 10, 2014, 03:38:41 PM »
So for the past few month's I've had some mild intermittent chest pain. It's on the right side about 2 inches above the nipple. It gets worse when I lay down on my stomach, when I wake in the morning, and if I stretch my arm out. It doesn't get worse with breathing or coughing so I don't think it's respiratory or costochondritis because of that. It's normally a sharp ache at first then turns to a dull ache, then almost a pressure like feeling, I'm able to run more than a mile with out stopping and it doesn't normally bother me. Does this sound like a pec strain or something I should be worried about because I've had it awhile now.
I'm a male, 20 years old so I doubt it's respiratory, any input will be great, It should be noted that I lift weights 5 days a week, but am on my quarterly rest period for spring break.
Have a great day  :action-smiley-065:

Muscle strain.   Anything that is inside like an organ, etc wouldn't just hurt when you are in certain positions.  Only muscles do that.

I get these random pains in my chest and around my chest area too. I still sort of get worried, but i'm pretty sure it's just anxiety (i hope). I think if it goes away ur good!

I have chronic chest pain in that same spot... I haven't had it in over a week because I changed something. The thing I changed is how I eat. I have been eating very slowly and hold my neck up when
I swallow between each bite. I think for me the pain was esophageal in origin, like the normal swallowing mechanism hurts my chest muscles... So by controlling it I have not had any pain.
