Looking for people with PTSD Age 20-30 to chat with!
« on: March 07, 2014, 04:01:55 PM »
Hey all!

I am 23 and I suffer from PTSD resulting from a sexually and physically abusive relationship.

I was just recently diagnosed and thought it might be nice to have someone to bounce coping methods, etc off of.

So feel free to say hi! (:

Hi Kelly!

I'm also diagnosed with PTSD but for a very different reason. How are you coping as of lately? I'm a 24 year old girl who struggles with it quite a bit! But I'm always trying to get better and stay hopeful

Hi!

My name is Katie, and I am 20. I was diagnosed with PTSD a few months ago, brought on by a rough childhood.

It would be awesome to talk to other people my age who are living and dealing with PTSD because I know no one in person who has it. :)

I'm on an SNRI (for my PTSD and Depression NOS) and I get therapy during the fall and spring semesters at my university. I still haven't been able to get over the bad dreams...any tips?

Hey guys, I'm in my 20's and also have PTSD...it would be nice to have some people to talk to about it since I also don't know anyone IRL who has it.  Anyone have any luck/tips for restful sleep?

I am also diagnosed with PTSD. Always looking for people to chat with and help through episodes. I have pushed just about everyone that ever loved me away from just them witnessing my panic attacks. Feel free to message me.

23, female, PTSD....

This works for me, for sleep and it sounds so basic, shallow even (but we're trying not to analyze here)
and can be a bit difficult, but my brain likes it! hehe :]

Okay, so you know how people say to "think happy thoughts" "focus on a happy memory"??? Well, that's SUPER hard for me because I can't pinpoint any,I have PTSD for Foo FIghters sake...
it's basically like asking a basketball player to start playing golf... like Michael Jordan, okay honey we know that didn't work!

SO-

before I go to sleep, when i'm tossing and uncomfortable and such..

I think of how my body responds to happiness and relaxation.
I think of how light I feel. How my lips curl into a smile.
I feel happiness.
I feel relaxation.

And I do it all soberly, finally! :]

Have you ever been in love?
It's nice to feel giddy before bed.

What's something small that you like, not something you like on ***** , but something that makes your body feel good?

chocolate? the beach? a cuddly robe?

Think of the way it makes you feel! :]

Also, I highly recommend exercising!
If you're single, I suppose you could always think of the cutest person you saw at the gym that day. If you're taken, think of how special your other has made you feel.

Also, nature documentaries!

The treatments for PTSD may generally be divided into psychotherapy and medication. Some patients respond well to one treatment modality, while other patients require both modalities. There are few things which can help to deal with PTSD that, Learning Anxiety Management Skills, Adapting to Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Restructuring. May be these can help you.
