Cancer fear
« on: March 06, 2014, 03:38:57 PM »
Hello everyone,

I haven't been on here in a while because I was doing pretty good, but, I'm back. Last year,
One of my friends went to the er with pains and found out he had cancer. And recently, i've been seeing TONS of stories on ***** (not even people i know,
Just links to things), about how moms notice their kids being different, take them in, and then are diagnoased with some type of cancer. I have this terrible worry that i have that or some other underlying problem and that i'm just not aware of it. I was in the er in december for anxiey, and they took blood and checked my lymphnodes and did an ekg, although i'm not really sure what they were looking for,
So i'm convinved i have something that wasnt shown. Does anyone else fear things like this? How do you go on with it? :(

I went to my GI physician today for a follow-up to my colonoscopy which was on
December 27, 2013. I asked him about small bowel cancer, pancreatic cancer,
colon flat polyps, carcinoid tumor and stomach polyps. I have had many tests
over the years and he said that I have to try to occupy my time with other
things, etc. He said it is very hard for the lay person to interpret symptoms and
that we have to think that the odds are in our favor that we are OK. I said easier
said than done. He said many people worry and that I am not in his top 20 of callers.
