I looked this up for you sadbear and you can have an allergic reaction to st johns wort.  Maybe you should stop taking it for a while and see if the itching etc eases up?

Allergies

Rare allergic skin reactions such as itchy rash have been reported in studies in humans. People allergic to plants in the Hypericaceae family should avoid use of St. John's wort.

Thank you Bronte, won't take them again, will perhaps speak to local pharmacist in morning and see what he says about it.  Rather not call the Dr, will get struck off if i keep onlike this ::)
Bugger.  really trying to avoid going onto AD's but seems even nature is against me.  It's taken me 5 months to agree to taking the SJW. Sod Sod Sod.

Hey Sadbear
I know just what you mean  :(  I have finally taken the plunge and gone onto Amitriptyline.  Only taken one so far and came down with what feels like a chest infection and now I am scared stiff that I've had an allergic reaction to the bloody stuff.
This is all a nightmare isn't it?
Sod sod sod is just about right ....
