Hi m:)

This is a pretty common worry for HA peeps. We fear we are dying so we might keep going to the Doc until we get testing and then we can hyper-worry about the 'damage' this testing has done (mainly CTs and x-rays).

You can't undo a CT, anyway.....but having a CT isn't going to 'mess you up', at all. Or even having several, as many here on The AZ have done. But, what you can do is not have anymore unless it is absolutely medically necessary and NOT given to you for "peace of mind". I know this can be tough as HA peeps truly feel their med testing IS necessary, at the time, as we feel there is something bad going on in our bods. And, as has it has been proven time and time again, medical testing does not provide an amped up HA person any type of lasting peace....the relief is fleeting, at best.

my husband losing motivation for life because of me I'm so worried for us, kids.

HA isn't ALL about our health. It can bleed over into almost any facet of our lives and create serious difficulty. It can be pervasive its overall affect on our quality of life. That said, we can get help and help ourselves, definitely. We do not have feel as though anxiety will be the major determining factor for our happiness in the future. We do feel this way often, when struggling, but we can learn how to live and believe otherwise:)

What's going on in your anxiety help? Self help?

Peace and Feel Well:)

I'm new to HA and the study was high dose
so I'm afraid of cancer induction now or future.
I had no idea that was the consequence of this
test - the dr just ordered it and called with results.
I thought it was safe/benign because of how hospital
handled it. i should have asked more questions.

Take some Lugol's 5-7% or Nascient iodine before a scan. It's suppose to prevent radiation, it's worth a shot

Noooooo!!!  You are supposed to come talk to me when you get worried LOL.  I was hoping you were feeling better about this.  I am sad that this has you so worried and your husband upset too.  I really really really wish there was something I could say to help you understand that there are literally millions of people that have gotten more radiation than you and are perfectly OK - now and will be in the future.  Including myself and some co-workers that I work with that have been doing it for 30-40 years. There are patients that I have radiated almost daily for 10 year + years and they dont have cancer yet :) There are way too many articles online about radiation.  There is nothing you can take to prevent getting radiation or to take afterwards to "get rid" of radiation - as it passes through your body the minute it hits it - it doesn't stay and float around in there :)  I really want anyone with worries about radiation to ask me questions. I have been in this field my whole adult life - it is OK - I promise :)

IAMHEALTHY.  This wont reduce the radiation at all.  Where did you hear that?  The stuff you get injected before doing a CT scan contains iodine...its called contrast and has to do with the images you get from the scan. So taking a oral iodine mixture will not reduce the radiation. Sorry:) (I work in the field)
