Someone please respond....
« on: February 17, 2014, 10:05:23 AM »
I have a question....
Last night I woke up at 1:30am freaking out because my body was completely numb....not tingly....and I think it was just my left side, my heart was beating really hard and fast, and I have breathing issues 24/7 from anxiety already.
The numb thing has happened to me a couple of other times in the past few months.
But, this terrified me and I'm still on edge at the moment about it.
I'm thinking all kinds of crazy things about my health.
Now, I'm not sure if this actually woke me up or if it happened as I was trying to go back to sleep....I don't remember.
But, I unknowingly woke my husband up because I started screaming......

So, I need to know:
Has anyone else ever experienced something like this before????
Is it really just my anxiety?
Should I be worried?

....I'm having breathing issues, feeling light nausea, shaky, and left side jaw, neck, back, and rib pain right now....

It sounds like you woke up in the middle of a panic attack! Chances are the jaw pain is from clenching your teeth when you were sleeping. It's a horrible way to wake up!

I've woken up in pain on one side of my body because I tend to clench my jaw and other muscles during the night. You may have slept the wrong way and that's why part of your body was numb. This all sounds panic related. Waking up with a rapid "thumping" heartbeat is also normal for anxiety while you're sleeping.

That's actually very similar to what happened to me several months before my first big panick attack. I'd wake up in the middle of the night with my stomach churning and my hear trying to beat its way out of my chest, I'd be lightheaded like crazy and sometimes my left arm would be numb. At first we thought reflux bc I knew I had that problem, and it liked to hit at night. But the more I think about it and read, I think those were my first panic attacks.

Hi, you may have been sleeping on the side of you body that was numb, and just had too much pressure on it.  And the rapid heart rate could have been because the numbness on your side scared you since you have HA you interpreted it as something dangerous.

I have woken up to numb body parts throughout my life since childhood.  One time the numbness was so bad, it took awhile to get circulation going (it was my leg).  But everything was alright.

I hope you're feeling better today! Try to have a good day  :action-smiley-065:

It's almost time for me to go to bed and I am so terrified  :traurig001:
I keep getting this feeling and thinking that I am going to die tonight.....
I can't breathe well...I feel as if my lungs aren't working or like they're just going to stop.
I am feeling shaky all over, nausea, fuzzy eyesight, muscle tension, etc.
And I keep feeling very numb and weak in random parts of my body (hands, face, legs, etc.)
Plus, everyone in my house is about to go to sleep and I'm going to be up all alone with my thoughts and scary physical symptoms all alone  :(

I am seriously afraid.....
