« on: February 14, 2014, 04:35:16 PM »
I'm sure everyone here has experienced butterflies in the stomach...but butterflies in your chest? I've never experienced it before and now I am...my heart feels fluttery and like there is an odd sensation thru out my chest. No pain though. Anyone with me here?

VERY common!!   Anxiety or even gas.    You can feel it above the boob area or in the hollow of your throat.  Sometimes it even makes your throat tickle.  There are different kinds, I get both of these.

I just posted about this the other day. And butterflies was the only way to describe it. Glad to hear it's common!

its a sort of acid reflux. It scared me too until I realized what it was. annoyingly common with anxiety.  The odd rumbling sensation that comes for just a fleeting moment, and has no pain or discernable source. I use antacids and they help, to a point. Really they're just good for confirming that its a stomach acid problem, which helps more than anything else.

:action-smiley-065:    yes i suffer from this also, but i describe it as a fluttering feeling, it tends to be worse at night when i go to bed and i concentrate on it. My doctor said this is palpitations, nothing serious at all and will not do any harm but agreed it's not a very nice feeling so he prescribed me with beta blockers (propanolol) and since then i have never experienced it again
