HELP! Headaches
« on: February 11, 2014, 09:31:05 PM »
Headaches were my first HA symptom over a year ago and while they have differed in severity, and sometimes when I'm going through a different scare they aren't super noticeable they are really starting to get to me.  I have a huge fear of sudden death, so an aneurysm scares me and I feel like i may have an unruptured one.  Brain tumors also scare me.  My only reassurance is I don't have any neurological symptoms other than fatigue.  I know some people don't have any other symptoms though.  I don't know what to do.  My dentist, who has no idea I have anxiety said my teeth had been grinded down to resemble someone nearly twice my age (I'm 18), but I have been wearing a mouthguard and haven't seen any relief.

You're talking about two severe health ailments that usually don't appear until much later in life, and usually in people with a family history of both. Aneurysms are also much more common in smokers. Having either at the age of 18 is pretty unlikely.

Would you think maybe this teeth grinding could be due to possible TMJ from when you sleep? I'm sure your dentist would have given you some explanation on that. I'd be upset if he didn't.

Sorry to hear about your headaches, I rarely get them but my cousin has them on the daily. even has to take medication for it.
Hang in there, you'll find answers if you ask the questions.

Missed the part about headaches. You're 18, so I assume you're in your final year of high school? I remember when I was 18, headaches were so common I'd be popping 4 or 5 Extra Strength Tylenol a day just to get through classes. That was before I knew of the health effects on your body. I wasn't the only one, seemed everyone complained of headaches back then.

The very small rational side of my brain says it shouldn't be anything serious at my age and no progression of symptoms over a year, but even on my least anxious days I'll get a sudden head pain or a tension headache that will cause my HA to stay alive. My dentist said I grinded my teeth at night and gave me a mouth guard to wear which I have for about 5 months and haven't noticed any relief. I guess I don't wake up with a headache but I'll get one shortly after waking or sometime at least.
