Blue sparkle in vision
« on: February 11, 2014, 12:42:22 AM »
I see a blue sparkle in my vision from time to time lately. Is that normal?  It lasts for a second. I'm just so scared/ worried especially with my brain tumor fear.

When do these sparkles occur?

Under stress, fatigue, headaches?  moving too quickly?

It's definitely an uncomfortable sense especially with vision but rest assured unless you've been tested for anything I wouldn't raise any anxiety on it until you get it checked out.

The only time I see any type of sparkles is when I'm fainting. I don't like to get my blood drawn. maybe someone else on here can provide more information.

It probably wouldn't hurt just calling into to an optomitrist place sometime and asking over the phone.

I get white 'sparks' in the corners of my eyes from time to time, usually during a headache or anxiety moment. I visited my optometrist and my eyes checked out fine. She also explained that sparks in your vision is pain that is visible to the eye, and you often see it with headaches, or due to stress and tension.

Not sure if that applies to blue sparks, but I'd speak with an optometrist for a definitive answer.

You mean like a shimmery, green ish sparkle? I get that too sometimes. It's noticeable when I look at white things.

I only notice it sometimes when I look at a blank wall. I had my eyes looked at many times about a year ago and before I had LASIK. Ugh. Now I notice a different issue, sometimes I notice a clear white shimmer floater and it goes away. Like today I was sitting on the toilet and i was looking left and I notice something kind of clear or white or like a light floating up in the corner of my right eye when I'm looking left.

Floaters, maybe? But I have read your posts and have a lot of the same issues, and have had an MRI of my brain, so hopefully that means we are in the clear! I have gotten my eyes checked multiple times, too.
