Klonopin and Working Out
« on: February 08, 2014, 02:57:55 PM »
I had taken .25 mg of Klonopin yesterday mid morning-afternoon, and I went to workout. I had a vigorous exercise involving racquetball and cardio and weight lifting, as I became fatigued near the end of my workout, my anxiety symptoms began to float up, not my major symptoms, but a lot of the smaller ones. I ended up sitting there on the lockerroom bench for a good 20 minutes thinking "What exactly am I feeling right now?" because it was like a mix of relief and a mix of anxiety that was eating at me as well.

After that time, I got dressed and drove home, and I was leaned more toward the sense of relief as I had been prior to working out.

Does strenuous or vigerous workouts take away the effect of medications?

Sometimes, when I'm home alone, I fill my bathtub with tomato sauce and pretend I'm a meatball.

No. But some of the effects mimic the flight-or-fight response which can disturb those with anxiety disorders.
Overall, anxiety is good for anxiety and depression. In mild cases it can be the only treatment required.

NOTE: I'm not a doctor, and particularly not yours, so there may be factors I'm unaware of. Therefore all advice is of a general nature and you should consult your doctor before following any of it, especially before changing med doses.
