Reassurance for brain tumour worriers...
« on: February 06, 2014, 05:23:32 PM »
I went to the dr today! It was the best thing I could've done! He told me he sees a brain tumour once every 10 years (he was very old) and they are extremely rare. Thought that may assure some of you guys.

Also I'm going back on fluoxetine!!! Yay so excited! I can't wait

I wonder how common brain tumors are missed on an MRI without contrast... ugh.

I am also on fluoxetine... just started almost 3 weeks ago. 20 mg

I don't think a brain tumour could really be missed... Also if you're a 94 baby like me, the doctor also told me that I really have nothing to worry about at my age, if you had an MRI and it showed nothing then there's nothing. I was on fluoxetine for many years, took myself off it, big mistake. Glad to be going back on it! If you ever wanna chat I'm here  :action-smiley-065:

But then I question if it was too small to be seen then (got it done in mid November) and wonder if it started growing quickly and is causing these weird vision problems. I just hope it's reliable. And yes, I am 19

ive been having migraines a lot this past year, the only freightening thing that makes me thing I could possibly have a brain tumour is that I always have this head pain in the same spot - at edge of scalp above right eye - that comes when I cough, sneeze, or sometimes when I yell, along with head pressure etc. ive never been lucky enough to have had an mri or ct scan done, but it seems like everyone here gets every test in the book done based on sometimes little or short lasting symptoms.
