Gastro Appt tomorrow. Nervous.
« on: February 06, 2014, 07:52:10 AM »
So in 2012 I was having rectal bleeding. In november 2012, I had a colonoscopy done. They removed a large polyp and there was a lipoma. I was only 22 ( just turned 22 the month before). I am supposed to have another colonoscopy and I go for consultation tomorrow. I am sure he will just ask questions like having symptoms or palpate my stomach. I just went to m GP for my annual and he did the whole palpating my stomach. He said he thinks it was just a freak thing because genetics cause more than one polyp. I am prtty nervous and just need some reassuring words. I also recently had my iron checked and it was great so not anemic.

My GI physician told me that the more serious colon polyps are adenomas. Lipomas are traditionally benign.
Good luck and I am sure the outcome will be in your favor.

He is right, genetics will cause multiple polyps. This wasn't genetic. A lipoma is not a worrisome type of polyp/tumour.

Marc, i did have an adenoma removed. I was 4 cm but not cancerous. Thank you both for the encouraging words.

I am very nervous that after having five pathologists look at my polyp, they still missed the cancer and now it has spread.
