Ok, that virus is very rare! I'm sure he was just kidding. Even so, he wasn't around the girl. Try not to worry about that one...

No. The kid hadn't got ebola. I think the symptoms would have been easily noticed. They can include blood coming from your eyes. Is a rare thing to pick up in the Western world. Africa had the only outbreak of it that I ever remember and that was years ago. Trust me a person with that you could easily spot. Not something you hear much about these days. Nobody, if they did have it would be in a car or even in their own home. Hospital and kept away from other patients. So fear not.

Ebola is almost unheard of in the Western world. It is mainly a problem in places like Sub Saharan Africa, and countries with poor sanitation and access to medical treatment. There is no way anyone with Ebola would be riding in a car or walking around, at worst, that kid had a bad case of a cold or flu, specially as it is flu season.

he wasn't with the girl in question, but with her brother. the girl is at home(i assume, because the mother couldn't go get the son at carpool so he rode home in our carpool...not with me though, another mom).

is it really rare in the US? am i really over reacting?

i'm so stressed out over other things in my life right now, that i could easily latch on to this thing. i need to nip it in the bud. i want to google but know that it only makes things worse. i haven't googled anything like this in years...seriously, years. i realize that my trigger for anxiety like this is higher because of other stress in my life, so i'm trying to remember that.

i just have to be really reassured first...
thx

There has never been a case of ebola in the US.. If she did have it she would be dying and the CDC would have the whole neighborhood quarantined and she would be on national news.. It was probably sarcasm. You have a better chance of getting rabies or ALS, both rare, than you do getting ebola in the United States.. Pull yourself together. You're okay! lol

If that were true that story would be top story on every news station across the country.    I haven't heard it, all I'm hearing is the 1-3 inches of snow we'll be getting...
