Personally, as I get older (I'm 48) my body is changing how it reacts to food. Example, I used to be able to eat a ton of things like pancakes no problem. Now? If I ate one I would feel awful, racing heart, muscle aches, then panic attacks. Something has changed the way my body processes the sugars associated with simple carbs - like pancakes, cake, pizza, pasta, bread, rice, etc. The sugars are getting absorbed so quickly that Its almost like someone is injecting sugar right into my veins. I now stay away from things like that and it has helped a TON.
