Sigh....lymph nodes again
« on: January 15, 2014, 05:22:51 PM »
After being good for a long time, almost two months, I get hit hard by lymphoma fears. OK, my back story, since there are always some one new here that hasn't read it, but I'll keep it short. I've had swollen lymph nodes in my groin and armpits since 2007, so this is the SEVENTH year of swollen lymph nodes.
I've had all the tests, ultrasounds, blood tests, CT scans (two in 2007) and all reveal nothing. The only test I haven't had is a biopsy because the doctors don't think it's necessary.

Anyway, I felt my nodes earlier today and they feel more fixed than they have before and more round. Now I'm worried :S
I'm 25 years old and the chances of me having undiagnosed and such a slow growing lymphoma at my age are astronomical. Still..........

You've got to find a way to trust in your doctor!!  How do you know they are swollen?  Are you able to compare from 7 years ago when you say this started?  lymph nodes throughout the body are of all different sizes depending on where in the body they are located, whether there is a lot of fatty tissue and whether you have a cold, sinus infection, etc.  If you had a lymphoma that started 7 years ago, you'd certainly have had additional symptoms by now.  Find yourself a good distraction such as a hobby or sport to keep your mind off your lymph nodes, if only for a few hours a day and enjoy the break from worry!
