Middle of upper stomch
« on: January 10, 2014, 09:35:46 AM »
So I have a doctor appt today and I am scared to death. I hate going to the doctors. Well, I took a vitamin this morning on an empty stomach and then I ate something sweet. It pset my tomach and I threw up. So I worried I had a tumor blocking my stomach. So I started pressing and in the middle of my upper stomach, anout two inches below my breasts, is a sore spot when I press on it. I am totally freaked that this is a tumor.

Since you're going to the doc today he can check it out for you.  Let us know how you make out.

Thanks! I had something similar by my belly button once. After I had my colonoscopy, it was gone. I didn't have anything in that spot though. I guess it could be stress.

Vomiting can absolutely cause sore muscles in your abs, ribs area, chest, throat, etc

I know the answer to this question, but I need reassurance today. Stress can cause vomiting right? I had a polyp removed during my colonoscopy last year and now I worry everything is cancer even though my polyp wasn't cancer.

Thanks patmob. My mom says I should stop looking for things. She says it is not normal to poke, and prode, and push on everything in your body.

And the more you poke a specific spot the more sore it becomes which makes you think something is wrong so you keep poking and it gets even more sore which makes you think something is wrong so you poke it more and on and on and on

Very true. I went to my doc, told him all of my irrational fears, my follow up colonoscopy fears. He pressed all over my stomach and did not feel a thing. As soon as I left there, the pain was almost gone. I believe it was gas or tension. He told me exercise would decrease my anxiety if I didn't want meds. He said give it a month. I don't want to take medicine because we are trying to have a baby. He also said if we are anxious about other things, relationships, money, school, we turn to other fears to not worry about them. I told him I thought I had lymphoma and colon cancer and bless him, he didn't laugh. He felt my neck and all of my stomach.
