Jaundice and bilirubin levels?
« on: January 03, 2014, 06:52:20 PM »
Hi everyone! I have been having anxiety over a dull ache and full feeling in upper right abdomen. Liver worries are a trigger of mine. I had a normal abdominal ultrasound and ct almost a year ago. Today I had blood work done with normal bilirubin and liver panels. I always think I'm jaundice and obsessively check my stool (it's been pale brown or yellowish lately), urine color and the color of my skin and eyes. If I were jaundice, it would show in my bilirubin levels, right?

yes but if you just had all clear blood work , ultrasound and etc. you are fine. No problems with your digestive system. It could be just gas getting trapped. So don't worry looks like you got the all clear.

Yes it would be elevated if u were jaundice.

I alaways worried I was jaundice and my sister who is a nurse told me that it's obvious when someone is jaundice.

Anyway I was at a wedding and was introduce to a couple. The husband was this really strange colour I mean obviously so. And it was a shame because you could see people staring but trying not to show their horror.

Anyway i found out that he was waiting in a liver transplant. So it was then I realised my sister was right there was no mistaking this poor guy's jaundice.

All your results are normal and that is great news
