Here's to 2014
« on: December 30, 2013, 08:41:47 PM »
HA is a hard battle to overcome. But we all know that to some extent, we have it or we would not find ourselves on this site. As my mom says "you are the only person I know who has had several forms of cancer or other deadly disease and yet have had no treatment and still kicking it". Let us look back on all the silly things we thought we had, thank God for the things we didn't have, and pray for those who have found themselves worrying about something that came true.

Amen!

This year, I have "had":

Breast cancer...twice
Lung cancer
A brain eating amoeba
Leukemia
Lymphoma
Intestinal lymphoma
Thyroid cancer
Colon cancer
Oral cancer
Heart attack
A flesh eating bacteria
Higher cancer risk from radiation exposure
...and now we're back to the brain eating amoeba thing.

Yikes! Here's to a better year indeed!!!

I've just made a pact with myself that 2014 I'm gonna beat this HA starting off with google which triggers it usually so no more health related searches I'm still continuing my CBT so I'm really hoping to finally put a end to it! I've thought I've had- brain tumour, heart attack (worst panic attack where I demanded an ambulance thank god for my MIL who supported me through that horrible day) mouth cancer, breast cancer, cervical cancer, blood clots, brain heammorage, you name it I've thought it! Mine was triggered last feb I went to hospital due to asthma attack but the docs were more concerned or my fast heart rate, my thyroid was tested, I was hooked on ECG machines, all normal but they told me for precaution they wanted to test for a blood clot on my lung this test was raised. So me going in thinking I was having a asthma do which I've suffered with since I was a baby I was told I needed a CT scan and I had to travel each day at 6pm for a blood thinning injection in my stomach (not pleasant) I can easily say that 3 days wait was the most scary thing I've ever had to go through but the scan was clear :) my question to the docs were well why is my heart faster than 'normal' they put it down to over use of my inhalers but to this day my heart is still quick. My heart isn't the main focus on my mind anymore but I strongly believe that trip to hospital resulted in the escalation and start of my health anxiety. It will be nearly a year that all this happened so I really hope I can finally control it. I wish everyone a happy and prosperous new year I hope it's a good one x

Well right now my only :dazed: fear (so far) is a brain tumour and just that one fear has exhausted me enough! I am convinced this is what I have and am assuming this is going to be my last NYE so I had better make it a good one, not that I really want to celebrate with a frigging headache! I have even been telling myself to accept that it is a brain tumour (god even typing those two words makes me feel sick!) and accept that it's something I will have to deal with!

I have an MRI on the 7th January so I shall discover then if this is anxiety or real! I guess IF I am told it's not a bt I will decide it's something else and panic about that! I am awaiting CBT so I HOPE 2014 brings me some good MRI results, some successful CBT and a calmer more happier me because this HA stuff is bloody exhausting!

Happy New Year to you all!  :laugh3:

I had a fast heart rate when I was pregnant. 225 to be exact. Which led to multiple tests. Then i was having numbness, tingling, and the doctor thought it was mini strokes because of my heart stuff. Turns out it wasn't anything serious. I also had blood in my stool and had a polyp removed. Nothing worth dying over although i convinced myself and everyone around me i had cancers, and tumors, and all sorts of stuff.

I hope we all gets out concerns reassured by a doctor that they are sure nothing is wrong this coming year.

Vasallus, sounds like you should remove the middle section of your body since it is causing so many problems  :winking0008:
