I'm afraid I have Lung Cancer
« on: December 24, 2013, 07:33:13 PM »
I hope I'm not getting annoying with all of these threads but I just went to the doctor and have no insurance and can't afford to go back anytime soon and I'm not seeing a psychiatrist so I don't have anywhere else to go.

Anyway after trying to stay off Google I ended up cracking an hour ago and searched to see why I have been coughing so much over the last few weeks. I ended up looking at lung cancer and...I had almost all of the symptoms. I have a chronic cough, I occasionally have shortness of breath (started happening in October, but doesn't happen very often, maybe only ~10-15 times since mid-late October and it only lasts a minute), I have occasional chest pain (doesn't last very long though), I heard myself wheezing on Saturday (only happened once, hasn't happened since), the last two doctors appointments I went to I lost weight (10 lbs between October and November and 1 lb between November and December) despite actually having an increased appetite and I have been having headaches. I'm panicking right now because this is the same disease that killed my grandmother and all of the symptoms are two similar.

The vast majority of lung cancers occur in long time smokers or those exposed to certain chemicals.
A cough, chest pain and wheezing can also be caused by reflux, according to my GI physician.
