Mid-Back Pain and Freaking it is My Gallbladder :-(
« on: December 22, 2013, 01:12:16 PM »
It is always something! :( Two days ago when I got up from watching TV my mid-back, towards the right, was hurting bad. For two days now it stayed the same and I also get burning pain back there. It also hurts when I take a deep breath. I have had upper back pain and lower back pain before but rarely, if ever, mid-back pain. I Googled it (ugg!) and read it could be the gallbladder and now I am convinced it is my gallbladder and it will burst and kill me. I would go to the ER but I don't know if I should or not. Could this be just back pain? I washed curtains this week and they were heavy and I took them down from the rods and hung them back up myself. The pain didn't start for three days after I did the curtains though. I have been extra stressed this week as my husband is sick so maybe stress is causing it to?

:(

Thank you.

Hello!

It's probably back strain and stress. I don't know how old you are but after a certain age. You can sneeze and pull something in your back.

If it hurts after eating a high fat meal, it could be your gallbladder. Unless the pain is very severe (Meaning you can't do anything but lie there in agony), make a regular appointment with your doctor.

Worse case scenario you have gallstones and they'll take out your gallbladder. It sucks but they usually do it laparoscopically (usually same day) and it's a minor surgery compared to the others. I haven't had it but I've know two people who have. They are perfectly healthy today. The worse symptoms they'll get is diarrhea if they eat too much fat.

But I really think you pulled a muscle.

Sounds muscular. I know a bunch of people who have had gallbladder issues and all had pretty severe upper abdominal
pain which radiated to their back on the right side.

Hey I had my gallbladder out couple of years ago and my pain always started at the from and radiated round to my back after a while. Yours does sound gall bladder related maybe muscle strain?
