Rice crispies in my head and neck.
« on: November 11, 2012, 06:42:09 PM »
Sometimes it sounds like there are rice crispies in my head  and neck and i start freaking out that i have some kind head/neck parasites. The only time i previously heard these sounds was the first and only time i was high on weed. Are these normal sounds that i can hear because i'm hypersensitive to whats going on in my body or they're not normal and  i should see a doctor?

I've often wondered about my own rice crispies neck! Whenever I turn my head I can hear them! I went to the doctor about this and he said it is normal and a lot of people experience it. He also said I was more sensitive to it than most. I'm guessing a lot of people wouldn't even notice these sounds! A handful of my coworkers suffer the same thing, so it can't be too serious.

I hear crackles when I turn my neck and stretch it. I'm not sure if thats what you mean, but I know for a fact my neck isn't broken so I'm not too worried about it!

Completely normal .... normal calcification as we age.  AND, we're definitely hypersensitive to it, myself included.

.Neck crackling
.You can see your pulse on your lower lip
.My right eye is slightly larger
.My right sac hangs lower

Hamesh, I really, really think you are hypersensitive to these things.  Your anxiety is seeking out anything that is not the "norm" whether it be physical or emotional symptoms.

The neck crackling is calcification and completely normal due to aging and even minor injury (playing sports, etc.)  Mine probably came from being rear ended in a car accident according to old x-rays.

Pulse in your lower lip?  As in a twitch?  I get them on occasion.  For me?  Stress.  No doubt about it.

Right eye slightly larger?  We are not symmetrical.  You can look anywhere on your body and see that one side doesn't exactly mimic the other.

Right sac hangs lower?  So does my husbands .....

Not saying that there might NOT be something wrong, but truly, I believe there IS nothing wrong here.

I can see my pulse in my lower lip too. And I think my crackling neck came from two very serious riding accidents. If you've played any contact sport, or been in a car accident, or even had a chiropractic adjustment, that is most likely what caused the calcification that LindaRK speaks about (by the way, I had no idea that was what it was!)

I think one of my eyes might be slightly larger than the other. As LindaRK says, our bodies are not symetrical. A lot of ladies on here have complained that one breast is larger than the other, so the same is probably true for a guy's scrotum.
