Yes this is ANOTHER liver obsession. I know some of you are sick of me, but posting my fears and worries here helps me relax.
But actually I am not even sure if this IS a liver fear or not.
The right side of my abdomen about 4 inches below my ribs, parallel to my right nipple,  seems like it sticks out more then the left side.
Its not constant and changes depending on variables. In the morning when I first wake up it almost looks symmetrical, after I eat the right side looks more bloated. And this is only visible when standing. When I lay down its flat and indented. I have had this for some time. I always just said to myself that the its normal because the right side has the liver, pancreas, gall bladder, ascending colon and duodenum where-as the left side only has the small intestine. But thats only my hypothesis, no doctor ever told me this.
Im also not even sure of the liver is in that spot. I always thought the liver was below the right rub cage but recently I looked at some anatomy books that show most of the liver is covered by the rib cage with only a tiny but under the ribs.

I googled (I know I know) and tumors seem to be the thing that keeps coming up

Can anyone relate to this?
Do any of you have similar?

If I look at myself in the mirror, sometimes my left chest may appear bigger than the right, one of my
feet is slightly bigger than the other, etc. and the list goes on. I think none of us are perfect and
appearances vary from individual to individual.

My left chest, breast, rib cage and abdomen juts out further than my right. I have always had the rib cage issue and my son inherited the same thing from me. My hubby has the same issue as you with the right side. I guess we're unfortunately am not all perfect. Most ppl are asymmetrical.

Symmetry or rather asymmetry is one of my HA triggers. For whatever reason I have got it into my head that asymmetry means something negative, or if I was not aware of it before I assume it is a new thing.

In my case, my rib cage on the left hand side is more prominent/visible, and I when I feel HA am convinced my abdomen is asymmetrical too, as well as breast, ear and probably a few other things too! People are not "even" side on side (Maybe that means we are odd;))  I am willing to bet every single person has some measure of asymmetry, even if it is not visible to anyone!

I freak out about asymmetry as well. One of my ankles is slightly larger than the other and I think I am suffering from some horrible fate. I just try and remind myself that I have always probably been that way, but with the constant self-checking I have just now noticed it.

Ugh, I hate how HA screws everything up!

Funny you mention ankles. My right ankle is a little bigger then my left, and I was in fact looking at it just before reading this post! I am always doing the that finger test to see if I have pitting edema. It all goes back to the liver: a sign of liver disease is water retention so that one larger ankle makes me think I am retaining water.

My son (age 18) has this and I first noticed it when he was about 12.  It bugs me, but I have never brought it up to a doctor.  His is very noticeable.  He has had to undergo ECHO for another suspected condition, and the specialists never seemed to fret over it.
