swollen hand after iv
« on: October 09, 2010, 11:13:54 AM »
I had surgery 3 days ago, and I noticed where they put the iv in my hand is swollen. Its not red, nor does it hurt. I went to the docs office and they said it looks like infiltratin, and some fluid might have gotten in my tissue. Has anyone else dealt with this and how long does it take to reduce swelling? Should I ice or put heat on it? One doc said ice and the other said heat. They also gave me antibiotics just in case it gets red(infected) or more swollen. They gave me keflux
