I am glad that there is someone who cares to post here.

I would really like to chat with other people with

PTSD that really understand and wouldn't be disguised or

freaked out when I need to vent or just share my feelings.

Maybe they would have some ideas of how to cope day to day...

after all they are walking the walk too....   housemouseID

Welcome housemouseID!

Well, we really DO care and we will certainly attempt to accomodate you (and all other members here) in any way that we can. This new forum (ie; "Announcements") will be open for the most part (rather than becoming a locked thread) and we welcome member feedback. In fact, we love it!.

As your humble Admin, I have suffered for years with GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder), Panic Attack's (PA's), Hypochondria, Clinical Depression, various Phobias and a number of other conditions (both phsycological and physical). I've been though all the meds, alcohol problems, etc. The main reason most of you don't hear from me too much is because too many forums have overly strict/zealous admins or MODS and so I have taken a "hands off" approach for the most part.

Anyway, I'll post again a little later. I do read a lot of the posts that come through here and am very touched/heartened by them. Perhaps someday, we will all be able to get together and have a reunion and share our stories in person.

- Take care my friends, GG

Hi! I'm new here too!
I am fortunate enough to have found a wonderful clubhouse where I go almost daily to be with people who have various mental disorders diagnoses and who are in need of some socialization. This is a wonderful place and it helps me both to grow and to understand myself better. I am diagnosed GAD, schizoaffective disordered, agoraphobic, panic disorder, PSTD, and depression, IBS.

Hey everyone! I too have been diagnosed with GAD. I think, though, if my doctor had enough guts she would just tell me i was a hypochondriac!! The problem is that I know this but still suffer. It's not even funny! If i have the slightest little ache in my head or my arm or anywhere else I my body automatically goes into shut down mode and i think i am dying of some awful disease. I have had a 24hr heart monitor, a brain MRI, a spine MRI, an abdominal cat scan (had my appendix out recently), etc etc...numerous blood tests and they all come back fine. It is so frustrating! I'll be fine for some time and then BOOM! I was on Paxil for 2 years and just cold turkey'd it one day. It took me about 2 months to really get over some BAD side effects. I still have side effects or something every once in awhile. I only take ativan .5mg at bedtime now and just try to deal with everything else on my own and try to talk myself down! Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't...I just pray and pray to God that he takes this away! I feel so sorry for my family who has to put up with me during these times! It's stressful! Well, welcome everyone to OUR world and if you need anything, I'll be here!!
