Stool question
« on: July 29, 2008, 09:54:49 AM »
I know this sounds disgusting but I wonder how many loose stools does a person without IBS have in a months ? I suffer what they think is IBS and every time I get loose stools I freak out. I even passed out from it before but it suppose to be a vasovagal responds. It's not like I run to the bathroom 10 times to have a loose stools. I can have just one loose stool a day and it can make me have pain or discomfort for the whole day. Even with normal stools I have discomfort but not as bad as with loose stool. I just can't remember what a norml stool pattern is like. I certainly can't ask my friends or even my husband about it. So, how many loose stools does  a non IBSer have a month or maybe in a week ?

Lots of us have poopie issues with HA...  Once you move past it, it's actually kinda funny!
Loose stools can happen solely just because of stress.  And when you pay attention, seems like it gets even worse because you get anxious over the next bathroom experience.  So reallly... it's up to your stress and anxiety level...

If anything, take fiber supplements!  I asked my doctor about that, and he said you can NEVER EVER go wrong with adding more fiber to your diet.

:laugh3:  Been there, done that.  Then I realize that I'm analyzing my bathroom habits LOOKING for a problem.  Everyone's digestion system changes from day to day depending on what we eat, how much we exercised, how much we drank, and whether we've been to the bathroom lately.  IBS is related to anxiety so when we're more anxious, IBS is worse.  Often anxiety alone can make me feel like throwing up or cause me to have diarrhea.

Try not to overanalyze it.  Deep breaths! :)

Yes.. From what ive herd from my own doctors and reading Most people dont get enough fiber at all. Try not to worry about loose stools. I have hermroids and sometimes theres a fair amount of blood I used to freak out then my doctor said... stop stressing .. get up and walk around more and DONT STRAIN and put this cream on.. and it happens much less. So seriously dont worry to much , I know how you feel though I would freak out a bit myself and when I started seeing blood woo I was off the charts lol.

Metmucil or veggies for fiber.

Doctors say be concerned when your stools are black and tarry or if blood is present.
