my worries may sound stupid, but...

Now I`m worried about oral cancer. I found something what makes me worried again. I can feel some little "pea" under my tongue...at the base of the mouth. I can move it a little with my tongue, there`s actually two of those, but I know another one has been there always. Now I`m not sure if that another belongs there or not, and of course I think it`s cancer there. It`s hard to explain how it feels like...Actually some said those would be saliva glands or something...

I know this must be something stupid, but you know I cannot control my worries easily.

Hi Milka
I don't think your worry is anything strange at all.  I am forever checking my mouth too BUT I want to reassure you that the two little pea things that you have noticed under your tongue are normal.  I think they are some kind of gland thingy, but I've got them too and I just asked my daughter (aged 24 - she thinks I'm a nutter!) to open her mouth and she has then too!!
So relax  :)

Thanx bronte! I`ve asked this thing from many people if they have those little lumbs in their mouth, and everyone seems to have. How stupid is that, when I still keep wondering.."What if".

Bronte...

Ì just wanna make sure we`re talking about the same thing ::) I don`t mean that soft "stuff" at the base of mouth, but right after gums (where tongue kind of starts) there`s these two pea things. my another one is a little smaller, and more "down" than another. this is hard explain B-;

Hi,

Just wanted you to know you are NOT alone...I had a harmless papiloma removed from my uvula and when I noticed I went to an ENT...he told me what it was and then I got a second and third opinion...went with a wonderful doctor and had it removed....BUT not before googling oral papiloma...holy cow...what a nightmare that sent me through...

So, now I am always worried about my mouth and have regular cancer screenings...like every 4 months...from what I have read..oral cancer is usually curable if caught early...evidently its when it is ignored for years that makes it so awful...

And, yep, I have the pea things too...they are at the base of the underside of the tongue...they attached to the line thingy in the middle and are slightly offset on either side...they are glands...

Good luck to you!
