Help!
« on: August 31, 2014, 11:37:15 PM »
Hey Everyone, it has been awhile. I'm back and having severe anxiety again. I was doing good for awhile.  I just found out i was pregnant and had to stop my Ativan cold turkey. I have been dealing with withdrawl symptoms and severe panic. I constantly feel like i'm not getting enough air. Today i was in the car..going to the grocery store and as soon as we got there.. i freaked out and wanted to go to the hospital of course no one took me.. I just came back home. I'm starting to think i have a breathing problem..but been checked by a lung specialist. so then i think i have Asthma.. i don't know but i really need some help.

I can totally relate. My only anxiety symptom is bad breathing. I feel like I can't get a full breath then that sends me into a panic. I get this really bad every few years for months. Then I somehow talk myself out of it. I've been to all the specialist and they have said I'm healthy. At some point I have to believe them and not myself. It helps knowing there are people out there with the same problem. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Holly, you talked yourself out of it once, you can certainly do this again, for it's the same anxiety maze.  Not having your ativan to rely on, I'm sure, is really hard, but after all of this, you'll have a gorgeous baby that will take your mind off of all your anxiety.

God bless you during your pregnancy.  Put your faith in your ability to be committed to recover.  You can do this.

Best regards,

Julie

P.S.  Do you live in a big city.  Here in Philadelphia, I go to Women's Behavioral practice that specializes in pregnancy depression and anxiety.
