Which anti-psychotic worked best for you, what were some of the side effects, and what is your illness?

5mg Abilify (pretty low dose) is the only antipsychotic I have taken.  I don't THINK I have side fx from this med. Diagnosis: Bipolar II and GAD.  Helps the mood swings and irritability.

Risperdal 2 mg. for years along with an antidepressant and anti-anxiety meds.  I was taking it for severe anxiety and to help me sleep.  Then the panic type of anxiety broke through and I switched to zyprexa 5 mg. which I've been on for quite a few years since.  The down side of both these meds are I get terrible hunger from them and am 100 pounds overweight.  Because of this I wish I could get off of the zyprexa but I know all too well the emotional hell that would await me.  The zyprexa also helps silence my OCD along with an SSRI antidepressant.  And it sometimes helps my mood.

Thanks girls, I am thinking about switching from latuda to something else because I haven't been doing that great on it, but I do not want to take a new antipsychotic and be hindered by side effects for the first week or two while I'm in school and at work, so I got a decision to make with my pdoc.
