Update on my Sertraline treatment
« on: August 27, 2014, 08:11:40 PM »
I have now been on sertraline for 27 days (18 days at 50mg, and 100mg for 9 days). I'm still feeling rather jittery and anxious. I'm not going to lie, I'm a bit disappointed that I really haven't noticed much of a positive change yet. I understand that these drugs take time but good lord I feel like crap. I suppose I could negate this to a degree with my ativan, but a as I mentioned in a previous post, the negatives of the drug outweighs the positives in my crazy head. Also, something I wasn't expecting is that I've had insane sugar cravings. I downed an entire tub of sour patch kids and washed it down with a soda like it was nothing! I felt like crap after but boy was it good lol.  Anyway that's my little update for anyone interested :goofy:

First off, 50mg is a large dose to start off with and going from 50 to 100mg is a big jump--you could be having higher anxiety from the increase.  Second, it's only been a little over 3 weeks, so it's not surprising that you're still jittery and anxious.

I'm almost 6 weeks in on 50mg (12 days of 25mg before that) and haven't seen a huge improvement, but my doctor likes to take things very slow, and wanted me to wait 6 weeks.  I'll be going up to 75mg probably tomorrow.

Hope it kicks in soon for you!!

On days of gray when doubt clouds my view
It's so hard to see past my fears
My strength seems to fade and it's all I can do
To hold on 'til the light reappears
Still, I believe though some rain's bound to fall
That You're here next to me and You're over it all
