More stomach issues! Is this anxiety?
« on: August 25, 2014, 01:54:50 PM »
I FEEL like I need to throw up a lot. Most of the day, actually. When I'm starving, when I'm just a bit hungry, after I've eating, it's a feeling that I dread.
I dry-heave sometimes, but nothing comes out. Burping helps but doesn't solve the problem.

It almost feels like my stomach is heaving up and down on it's own, like it wants me to throw up.

At times when I'm not thinking about it and I feel normal, I catch myself thinking hey, I don't feel sick right now...and then it comes back a lil' later.
Does anyone else get this? Or is it just anxiety?

Also, a warm feeling washes over me and my stomach just prior to happening (sometimes, not all the time). Other times, I feel like I have a lump in my throat- like food is stuck or something. Burping helps with that.

it sounds QUITE typical of how anxiety behaves.

MOST anxiety occurs on a subconscious level.  JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed.  It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state

Thanks 6pack. I hate all of these recent stomach issues. With the feeling I get in my stomach, I start looking up vagus nerve dysfunction and then I go off on a new tangent.

make a note to yourself to stop "looking stuff up"      that will not help an anxious mind.
