Yes!! I have had this lately (or maybe I've had it all along but just now noticed it) and sometimes even though I'm hungry, the burning sensation makes me afraid to eat, like I may get sick if I do.

How often do you get this feeling? I had it once in a while before but now its been happening everyday and lasts all day. Have you gone to the dr about it?

Yes, I have.
I never went to the doctor about it and it stopped after several months. It would come on, like you said, on an empty stomach. A particularly disturbing part for me was that it woke me in the night, obviously because stomachs are typically empty then. Mine always responded immediately to Tums or Rolaids. It just stopped on its own eventually and didn't come back.

I believe in hindsight that it was some sort of reflux, stomach acid, etc. I still have reflux pretty badly and it always goes away when taking antacids or PPI.
