is this ulcer?
« on: August 22, 2014, 03:15:19 PM »
I had burning pain in my stomach 4 weeks ago and started prilosec for 2 weeks. I didnt have any burning pain when taking prilosec but the next day after finishing it, i started get burning pain again. I dont drink, smoke and was tested negative for h. Pylori. I was taking advil for headaches and prednisone for sinus inflammation but stopped it a month ago. Wouldnt prilosec healed the ulcer by now?

From what I know and have learned about ulcers, it's that when you have an ulcer you know that you have an ulcer. Apparently the pain is horrendous and it doesn't just go away or come and go. The only way to relieve the symptoms is medication. I don't think you have an ulcer, if anything it's just an adverse affect from the medication!

Could be acid reflux and/or gastritis.  Have you seen your doc?
