Yeah, its weird. Its annoying. But its also interesting because its one of the few anxiety symptosm that people can actually test for studies. It turns out that no matter how much we feel like we can't, there's actually no physical change whatsoever. The problem seems to be entirely mental in nature. Its curious.

But anyway yeah its a really common problem, but thankfully it also goes away over time much better than other problems. Don't know why, but anyone suffering long term anxiety tends to "get over it" for the most part. I guess its just so disruptive that its obvious when it no longer is a problem.

Yes, anxiety can make it feel hard to swallow. I sometimes have that never-ending cycle of feeling like I can't swallow, then panicking because I can't swallow, which makes it feel even harder to swallow.

When I experience this, I take a drink of water to remind myself that I can indeed swallow and it's all in my head.

I think the best thing to do would be either drink some room temperature water slowly or make yourself a hot herbal tea (green, peppermint, etc) and just drink it slowly. It will help relax your through so the sensation of not being able to swallow will ease up!
