These are nice. Good for listening to on an uneventful day, just driving around... I particularly like the third song.
I like 80's music, too. My mother loves it. She has a whole CD of songs from the 80's from different artists.
Here is a song that is in one of my mother's favourite television shows. It is actually by Barry White.

Here's another one.

Barry White and that voice of his. All the women seem to go for that husky voice.  :laugh3: The Allman Brothers have a version of that second guitar piece you added. They do the Southern Rock music. Hence I would be more aware of them.

Going back to the start of the 80's. To a bit of cheesy music. This singer lives in Ireland now. She plays small gigs now only. This first song I love. Around this time, punk music was been pushed out and new wave music was taken over. So she was a cross between both.

Wait until you see this second video. Woman would scare the living daylights out of you.  :laugh3:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWhK_UoxCVg

But she could sing some slow songs. One of the most popular slow songs over this side of the world. Still played a lot today.

Oh, my goodness! What is with that woman?  :laugh3: Ah, well, she's a good singer though.
Kathy's Song. I love this.

And after that lovely song...  :laugh3:

Very hard not to like Simon and Garfunkel. Think everybody in the world would be well aware of those two. Good singers. Then you hit me with the oddest singer ever to grace the music scene.  :laugh3:

Think I will stick with the Irish this morning. U2. Only early U2. Before they were known around the world. Bono was still big headed. Such is the title of the song. A day without Me. This is my favourite U2 song.

Moving to the west of Ireland now. The Cranberries. Lover her voice.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Ejga4kJUts

May as well finish with Sinead. Still think she is the best female singer. May have the biggest mouth. But when she shuts up and sings she is good.

These are all great singers from Ireland. I've never listened to Sinead much but I've heard she's a wild woman! My favourite of these three is probably the one by U2. It has good energy.
This is my favourite song by U2.

Ahh, I'm running out of songs! Don't worry, I'll find some more. We must not stop this songfest!

Let me see what else I can find by way of Irish artists. This first band I went to see when they were at the top of their game. Place was an all seater. No way was anybody sitting down. When the song I will add came on the place erupted. Then venue soon changed. They removed about the first ten row of seats. So people could stand and do as they wanted to do. An Emotional Fish. Celebrate.

The Waterboys used to be popular. Had a few hits. This was the most popular song. People had their own meaning to this song. What exactly he was singing about. Use your imagination.  :laugh3:

Last song I just love. Modern day alternative band. This was the only song that ever got anywhere at all. Try sit still with this song on.

Hmm... I have no idea what Whole of the Moon could be about. There's definitely some meaning there, though.
Fight Like Apes. Amusing name. True, you just can't sit still listening to it.
Oh, Cuchculan, I'm jealous of these kids!

They sure have some skill. Anybody who can play music at such a young age has got talent. Not easy to get up on stage and belt out a tune. Fair play to them.

Shall we go for something different this morning. Is a demo recording. Easy to tell it is a demo. Voices are a bit off at times.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxQfKoo_-Vo

Will go with a second song from the same demo. Though this is more talking than singing.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukyHFD8v-ww

One last song for you to endure.

I like these. These girls have good voices, somewhat unusual, too. They look a lot younger in the first one.
Here is an old one for you.

I prefer the first one. Good old fashioned singer. I grew up with the Everly Brothers music in this house. My mum was mad into them growing up and still loves them. So the music is passed along the line. I shall begin with them. Hard to believe with my musical taste that I actually know all their songs by heart. Not sure if that is good or bad.  :laugh3: Going to start with a song that my mother actually gave me when I was a kid. So in effect it was the first song I ever owned.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjfdsQV1ZWI  I could even name the B side of all their singles. We have every single here in the house.

Bit of rare video for the second one. I actually have this singer on my MP3 player. So I am not one of those who just likes the obvious song. Which is the one I am going to leave. I do know a lot of her songs.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzy2wZSg5ZM

Will go with a second one by the same singer. Not going to name her. So you can look and be surprised.  :laugh3: ' What, he likes her '. The woman looked about 60 by the time she reached 30. It was from all her drinking and then medication. She aged badly. By 34 she couldn't hold a knife or fork. Her time was coming to an end.

Mm, I really like these. My dad's been listening to this style a lot lately. He goes through music phases of liking a certain style for a month or two.
I am familiar with this third song. Another one my dad's been listening to. And you know what? I think I like Edith Piaf, too.  :laugh3:

Good little happy song there. Morning time here again. We have reached over 100 posts and 1,000 views on this thread. Go us.  :laugh3:

Now for something a little bit different. Love the film this is from. Have the CD and all. My taste in music sure does vary.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HRa4X07jdE

Sure why not take a second song from her.

Yes! 100 posts and 1,000 views! And almost all on our own.  :laugh3:
I love Over the Rainbow. The movie used to scare me as a kid, though! But of course, not anymore.
The second one is cute. I googled the film which it was from. It looks very amusing. A girl and her friend kidnap the girl's mother and take her out on the open road in a trailer to keep her from marrying a man they know she doesn't love.
Now, what to show you..?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKNtP1zOVHw
And this is completely unrelated, must you must read this book! It is my new favourite.

I must say, I've had more musical variety in my life than ever since this thread was started. And it's not over yet! :-)

Have a Billy Holiday box set collection here. I bought it for the mother. Am used to hearing it downstairs. As for the second link. It sort of opened wiki and then asked if I meant something else. In other words it was telling me what I put in was not there. I am assuming it is a book. As that is what you said it was. I love good books. Just finished A feast for Crows. Will be starting book 6 tomorrow in that series of books. These are big books. This summer will be remembered because of these books. Normal books are close on 400 pages. These ones go on for 800 plus pages. I am reading them back to back. Whilst others watch the TV programme. I still prefer the feel of a good old book in my hands.

Going back to Bob Marley again. This song is amazing. Reminds me of slave times. That sort of song. Not a song everybody would know. I have all his albums here.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxlzX52-Ajw

I know you are not exactly into heavy metal music. This one song is amazing. Why not get the crowd to do the singing to begin the song. Is better on the album. With headphones on. Fear of the Dark.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epYKVcHrVr0       Still need that head banging smiley face.  :laugh3:

Apologies for taking so long to respond. I'm sorry.
Definitely need that head-banging smiley! "Fear of the dark"- this song is about me.  :laugh3:
So, you are a book worm? I used to be, too, but lately I haven't been into reading so much. And yes, it was a book about a little boy named August who has facial deformities. After bring homeschooled his whole life, his parents finally decide to send him to school at age ten. That's where the trouble starts. The book is called Wonder and it is by R.J. Palacio. I loved it.
This song actually plays a role in the book.

Speaking of songs I've heard of in books...

This one came from a book, as well.
