At the moment I am on book five in the Game of Thrones. Book worm I am as well. Seriously would have no idea how many books I get through in a year. But these books are huge. Bigger than the average books. Never actually watched in on TV. I will do that once I have finished the books. I will downloads the TV version. Lets me imagine I am living in a different era. Now for a song. Something different. This is my friend's band. They are no way famous at all. Just play small gigs around Dublin. This is actually a slower song they done for charity. Lead singer's niece died of cancer a few year back. She was a beautiful person. Both in looks and to talk to. She was only in her mid 20's. Not sure if you ever watch Vikings? The TV show. This chap is also in that. Most of it was filmed in Ireland. Parts you are meant to believe is England and other Countries. They are only Ireland. He used to do a stand comic show as well. Sure has got around. One of those people who likes the stage is Keith. Was slagging him over Vikings. Asking what exact episodes he was him. That I must keep on blinking and missing him. But I did see him a few times during season 2. He hasn't been killed off yet. Is filming season 3 with them at the moment. We do see regular pictures on a certain social media site. Social media sites are censored here by name. Or they used to be. So we always had to say *****.  :laugh3: Any roads. This is Keith and his heavy metal band. Only the song I will pick was made for others to like. So slowed down on purpose to appeal to others as it was for charity.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0PpqO0Xbdc

Just for the fun of it, I will include a song of what they sound like as a rule. Get ready to cover your ears. Growing up I grew up with a lot of metal heads. Big crowd of us. Few bands got together. That is why I am used to this type of music. I used to be the one diving off the stage into the crowd. Only one who would do it for them.  :laugh3:

Keith's band is great. I bet the friend I mentioned to you once would love this. And what A difference between the first and second songs!
Here's one my mother used to listen to a lot when I was a kid. My dad gates it for some reason, but I love it. It reminds of the good old days.  :P

Not heard of the Vikings. Will have to check it out.

Sounds like a good singer to me. Sort of artist you could relax and listen to. Going to pick a song that won the eurovision song contest for Ireland in about 1970. Now the song itself was crap. But fast forward many years. Take two amazing singers and cover a crap song and you can turn it into a great song. They only done it for a bit of fun. But their bit of fun was loved by everybody. Everybody remembered the crap version. Here we had a version that people were not afraid to say they liked.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8oqKyVW978

Second song is by a band named Sonic Youth. Original skateboard band. More alternative music. But a load of people were putting an album together in memory of Karen Carpenter. I am sure you have heard of The Carpenters. In stepped Sonic Youth. The last band you would ever expect on the album. They cover ' Super Star '. Now no singles were meant to be released off this album. Just going to be an album for charity. But the radio stations kept on playing the song by Sonic Youth. Probably all surprised that this band had covered the song they did. It was the only song from the album that got a lot of air play. I would suggest listening to any other Sonic Youth song to see what they are like as a rule.

The first one is actually pretty, although I think the lyrics are extremely corny.  :laugh3:
And the Sonic Youth singer looks almost exactly like the friend I just mentioned (and keep mentioning)! I almost laughed whenI saw him. But, anyway, it's a good song and a good singer.
Here is another one by Sky Sailing.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlOQPOR8z7g
Some of his songs' lyrics are so "quirky". Not in this one so much, but in others, like "Tennis Elbow" or the newer "Alligator Sky". I think that if I could write songs, they would sound like this.
This one is adorable. You've probably heard it before.

Think the less said about the second song the better.  :laugh3: I'll leave it at that. First one I could listen to. Kermit though? His voice wrecks my head.

Where to from here I wonder? Let me think for a whole moment. I would imagine you have heard this song before. The album it is from sold millions of copies all over the world. Just love this song. Reminds me of an ex. Odd. I know. Wanting to remember an ex.  :laugh3:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvcxBT5Bx8Q

The second song I picked just for you. Hope you enjoy it. No doubt you should know it. Your neck of the woods.

"Kermit though? His voice wrecks my head."-  :laugh3:
I've heard of Dolores Keane, although I haven't gotten around much to listening to her music.  Reminds you of your ex? Aww.  :laugh3:
Oh, yes, Donegal. ;-) This is lovely. Once again, I loved the old photos. I have a thing for old photos of Ireland, as you can tell. (But not old photos of the U.S. Those are boring. Like U.S. history. Blech!  :P )
Speaking of Donegal, my sister ran into Proinsais O Maonaigh, Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh's father, in a pub in Gweedore once. That was in 1999, I think, or maybe 2000. (Yes, I know, I'm bragging.) Got lots of cool Donegal stories like that.
Ever listen to the Cheiftans? Recently, someone played this at the session I go to.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vffqnYUyFVQ
The Bucks of Oranmore. This is usually the last one we play at the session. According to our little circle of musicians, once you play this one, that's it. You're done. You can't play any more because this tune outdoes them all, enough said.

The Cheiftans are a class act. Apart from some of their hairstyles.  :laugh3: But they are a big step above the rest when it comes to music. They have been around years. Known all over the world. Second one wasn't bad either. Where you at in the US? You think Irish and US you think Boston straight away. I know we bloody get everywhere.  :laugh3: We are spread across the US.

Wait until you hear this first song. This band mixed trad with a kind of rock back in the 70's. Long before anybody else ever thought of trying the two together. I love them. The Horslips. Pure class.

Another song just for you. Planxty. Christy Moore sang with them before going solo. They have got back together a few times. But just for you. Enjoy.

I'm over here in sunny California. Hello from California! :-) There is is actually more of the Irish diaspora here than you would thing. Well, at least around here there is. But I do know some Irish from other places- Oregon, Seattle, of course Boston.
I do know the first one. It's one of my favourite tunes, actually. I play it on my fiddle.
I've never heard this second one, but now I love it. Currently, I'm listening to it a second time. I like how it has more of an upbeat tempo than most of these kind of songs. Thanks for choosing some songs out for me. ;-) "My heart's tonight in Ireland"- This is often true, as corny as it may sound.
Look! Here's one for you now! (Alright, it was the best I could think of, alright?  :P Really wanted to find something for you, too.) I hope you shall enjoy it.

Here's one I've been obsessed ever since the concert I posted about recently. I love this group. The singer has a unique-sounding voice and she looks just like my late aunt.

First one I know oh so well from a movie. Boondock Saints. Great films. Meant to be making a third one. But I got the name of the song as well. Is a few songs with that name in it. The sick bed of Cú Chulainn is a classic by the Pogues. I will add that in a minute. Like the sound of Dervish. Very good song.  :laugh3: at the third song. Well played. It will certainly wake me up.

The Pogues to begin with.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZIISfOm3dI

I am going to stick with the Pogues. Just because I love them. Find me a better song than this second song. Master class. Pair of Brown Eyes.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=421pZgg-vlY

A last song by them. For all you Irish Americans.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-OnS3LPt0w

Morning time for you as you read this. Who better than one of your favourite singers.

Morning Has Broken. Good choice, especially for this time of the day here. :-)
Heard of the Pogues before. They have their own distinct sound, I think. They're a good band. This is odd, but the second song reminds me of the Mexican music my alcoholic neighbor blasts in his backyard all the time. My mother and I make jokes about it whenever he does.  :laugh3:
Heard Thousands Are Sailing before. The words are quite sad, but it's a nice song.
Another by Dervish. This is the kind of stuff I live for.

The Maid That Sold Her Barley
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUkKRVzC0JI
Also, do you know Cucanandy? I love that one, even though it's meant for babies (although in these times, not so much).
"Piper, sell your pipes and buy your wife a gown
Piper, sell your pipes, you'll surely fetch a pound
Piper, sell your pipes and buy your wife a gown
'I wouldn't sell my pipes for all the wives in town'" :laugh3:

Love that second song. Love that style of singing. Kind of makes you think of times long past.

Done my ice bucket challenge today. Shame I can't post that video here.  :laugh3: Getting soaked. As if we don't get enough rain as it is. Then we start pouring water over ourselves.

Music wise. Going to go with Damien Rice. Amazing Irish singer.

Leave you with Lisa Hannigan. She used to sing with Damien Rice. But they both done their own thing solo.

One more by her to end the night.

Ice bucket challenge? Oh, I would love to see that!
These three are beautiful. I love the style, and I love the guitar in the background.
Since I'm in bed right now and nobody knows I'm online and I would probably be caught if I got up to get the laptop, I'm here typing away on my little iPod. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to copy and paste links on this thing, so I will type out some songs for you to look up on your own.
Going along with this style.
Do You Remember- Jack Johnson (I might've shared this one with you already, but I'm not sure.)
Bean Phaidín- Lasarfhíona Ní Chonaola
Fire and Rain- James Taylor
Chances are this might not be the last you hear from me today. I can't sleep because I'm afraid I'll stop breathing in my sleep, and I've convinced myself that something is very wrong with my lungs. So, yes... I'll be awake for awhile.

Dizziness is the feeling of being lightheaded, woozy, or unbalanced. It affects the sensory organs, specifically eyes and ears. It can cause fainting. Dizziness is not a disease but a symptom of other disorders. Great source!

I get a free start to my day here. I see we had an insightful post made in between our last two posts.  :laugh3:

Shall begin with Lou Reed and walk on the wild side. I love this song. Am a fan of his. Liked the Velvet Underground too. His band before going solo.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZ88oTITMoM

Ever see the film Train Spotting? It wouldn't be the same at the start without this classic by Iggy Pop. They are been chased after shop lifting. You man stops at the car and just smiles. Take that out of the film at it just wouldn't be the same. Lust for Life.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQvUBf5l7Vw

Will leave you with my favourite song by the Doors. Not a song many people would mention.
