I know the first song well. Good to see it means something to somebody.  :laugh3: They were seen as a bit of laughing stock over this side of the world. Just the songs they sang. Their whole image as well. I like the sound of the second song. Is new to me. Like the sound of it. Enough to click on another one of his songs.

Now an artist who died, came back to life and died for real a few weeks later. It was odd. There was a news report that he died whilst out swimming. But then he turned up alive up and well. Still alive. The big twist was a few weeks later he died whilst swimming. It was kind of freaky in a way. But the song in question was written by Leonard Cohen. Another singer I like. But I picked the later version of the song by Jeff Buckley.

The second song is just for you. I am sure it will have great meaning to you. Try and hold in the tears.

Let you do a bit of a Jig for the final song

I didn't know they were a laughing stock. Hahaha! Funny.  :laugh3:
Yes, that seems to happen a lot with musical artists. Odd...
My Heart is in Ireland is beautiful. It definitely has meaning to me. Thank you for sharing it, I think it'll be one of my new favourites now. :-)
And unfortunately the internet here is being ridiculously slow, so I was only able to listen to 17 seconds of the last song.  Guess I'll have to try again later.
Now, I have some super relaxing selections for you...
Ever listen to Jack Johnson? His voice is very soothing. Also love his song Banana Pancakes.

These are by Adam Young, AKA Sky Sailing. I love his music from the early days.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to get to this third song I'm posting because the internet is so slow. I'll try to post it later. Ach, it took me forever to type this. Sorry.

That is a very nice song. The first one. Sounds like a good singer. Relaxing as well. Nice second song too. Peaceful.

Think the whole net crashed earlier. Nothing would open for me at all either. I mean nothing at all. So I went off and watched a bit of MMA. Love my fighting. Is a good sport. Now that that is over it is back to the music. I will go back to Kodaline. Just love their music.

Is the night here. Will keep it slow. Anybody reading this thread will think we are posting love songs to each other.  :laugh3:

Be interested to hear what you make these singers. Not everybody would be into them. As I said before I like people who write their own songs and can play an instrument. But they are good songs as well.

Will finish my night off with the man in black. Have to love the man singing.

I really like the one by Kodaline. Certainly not the last time I'll listen to that. Last one is really nice, too. Powerful.
"Anybody reading this thread will think we are posting love songs to each other."- Hahaha! That made me laugh.  :laugh3:
Well, now that things are back to normal with the internet, here is the song I was going to post earlier. :-)

You have a good taste in music. If I do say so myself. The next one I am going to pick is odd for me. An old friend off the net years ago sent me a CD. Now at first I was baffled at the choice of CD. But I began to listen more. The more I listened the more the music grew on me. Not my normal type of music by far. Think she had one album out and that was it for her. Don't be surprised at this choice. More pop than anything else. But she does write her own songs. The more you hear of her the more she grows on you.

You have pretty good taste in music yourself. You like a wide variety, which is good. Keeps you from becoming the tradition police like some people... Ahem, ahem.   :laugh3: (Not anyone here of course. Don't worry.)
I've heard that first one many times. It actually happens to be the song my mother dedicates to her late uncle who died of cancer in 1998.  It used to scare me when I was a kid. This song would come on the radio, she would get all teary-eyed, and I would desperately start asking a million questions to force it out of her that whoever Miss Vanessa Carlton was singing about wasn't dead, too.
Never heard the second one. For some reason it reminds me a bit of blues. I don't know why. Hmm, I wonder what the man in the video is doing. Looks like it could be something out of my dreams.  :laugh3:
Now, for pop... This is one of the few songs I listen to that is pop. It's really relaxing.

This next one comes from a group I used to listen to when I was really young, 10 and 11 years old actually. I stopped listening to their music after I found out that they had a sort of religion that I'm not even going to name because it scared me so much. However, I still occasionally listen to 2 of them. Here is one.

I give you the one with the funky Tinkerbell music video, because I'm too scared to look at the group, which is probably in the real video. There you go.

I know the first song. Popular song over this side of the world. Did make the charts. Hear it every so often on the radio. Second ones makes me feel like I am sitting down watching a child's TV show. That sort of song.

Where do I go from here. You know how a song comes along once in a while and you think there is just something about that song. Think this song came about Christmas last. Oddly enough some bloke has done a cover of it since then. But the first version is better because the singer doesn't try to hide her very strong English accent. She leaves it as it is. It actually adds to the song. Is Lily Allen. Somewhere only we know. Not sure if her or Keane wrote it. Keane has another version of it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ve9cBwI-pAg

I will try you out with some One Republic. Not sure if you ever heard of them before. Bit of a mixture of a band as far as songs go.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hT_nvWreIhg

Will end with a few from one of my favourite bands from Dublin. Republic of Loose. They tend to go with what is popular at the time. If pop is popular they will release a pop song. Hip Hop is popular they will release a Hip Hop song. Perfect song for both of us. Called ' I like Music '.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNBKaPcHFWM

Second song by them is like a good jamming session. They are a big band ( numbers wise ) as a rule. Good band to have on the MP3 player.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcW2u7mu9wU

Going to leave you with the kings of Dublin music. Aslan. This band belong to the people of Dublin. They never made it big. Were just about to when the lead singer had to go to rehab. They got back together and the lead singer then got cancer. He is still alive at the moment. But he is just a normal average Dub. The people of Dublin love him for it. If he ran for President he would win any day of the week. This song is one of the best songs ever recorded. Shame it never made it out of Ireland. Was number 1 here for ages. The video is fun as well. Singer just has a powerful voice.

Somewhere Only We Know is very pretty. It sort of has a depth to it, like there's something more to it we don't know. Don't you think? Seems like it would be from a children's movie, especially because it has those cartoon animals in the video. Is it from a children's movie?
I've heard the one by One Republic on the radio before. I kind of like it. It's energetic.
This one is an odd selection, I think, but I like it. I first heard it on Pandora radio.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehu3wy4WkHs
Two mighty ones from a piper here in the states.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNzbS4PJrYk
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdHRbsfYfQw
And another. Could do without the rock part, but then again it adds a sort of intensity to the music.

From what sounded like a kind of Latin hip hop to the good auld pipes again and some Irish dancing. Some mix indeed. Variety is the spice of life. So allow me to mix it some more. What will he come up with next? As for my first song last time around I am sure it was from a film. No idea which one. Allow me to introduce you to Madness. A fun band from the 80's who have got back together. I will begin with the first song I always sing when asked to sing. Know it inside and out. People thought I would botch up with the part that gets a little bit faster. Never.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXuvdeEC5y8

The second song by them is a cover of an old song. Listen to the lyrics. So amusing. Good song to sing along to as well.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlqbt1PQ1ek

They don't do many slow songs as a rule. But this is one. I could listen to this type of music all day long.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qezXWcpKkOY

I want you to hear a song by The Specials. It is from their second album. It is one of those songs that is out of tune in a sense. But on purpose to make the song work. Then I will end the night with my favourite anti racist song. By The Specials again. But a whole new line up in the second song.
First song is ' I can't stand it '. Amazing.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6Id5k_fCDw

Final song of my night is one called racist friend. Mellow song. That tells people if they have friends who are racist to say goodbye to them. Hope the new singer doesn't scare you. She looks frightening.  :laugh3: Mind you the other one ain't half bad. Like the dreadlock look in females.

Hmm, sounds like some good party music here. ;-) I've heard the first one before. My mother likes it.
And, oh my goodness! Shame and Scandal is hilarious and it reminds me so much of this song! Don't think it's traditional, but it was written by Buffy St. Marie to sound like a traditional Irish song , I think. This singer is actually one of my favourites. Listen. there's a huge similarity here.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Q1uOCYKZc8
And luckily that singer doesn't look too scary!  :laugh3: Good voice though.
Here's another by Cat Stevens. The day is always off to a good start when you listen this one at the beginning of the day. So, here's a good morning song for you.  :P
