ibs
« on: August 15, 2014, 07:17:52 PM »
For those who have ibs, can you tell me your symptoms? I think i have ibs but my dr wont let me get an endoscopy or colonoscopy cuz im too young. My symptoms have been going on every single day for 3 weeks. My symptoms are: stomach cramp 1 inch above belly button, lots of stomach growling, lots of gas, feeling bloated, feeling full after small meal, stool looks softer than normal, going to bathroom about 4 times a day, a little bit of nausea.

That sounds like it could be IBS but also straight up anxiety. For me, anxiety is what triggers my IBS so really it's all one in the same!

Most likely anxiety, I went more than 2 weeks feeling bloated all day everyday, heartburn, growling noises, nausea. I literally thought I had stomach cancer, which is rare especially for my age. I got bloodwork done and They all came out perfectly clean. Maybe 2 days later I went back to normal and The bloating was literally gone. I promise you its anxiety.

IBS and anxiety comes hand in hand, at least in my case. Either you have diarrhea or you're constipated with gas. You have abdominal cramps and discomfort, and it usually gets worse with stress or anxiety, hence the connection. It peeks whenever I get stressed out. I didn't need an endoscopy or colonoscopy for my diagnosis, but I was prescribed Librax which has done wonders.

With mine it can strike anywhere, anytime, but it's especially prevalent in stressful environments or during periods of high anxiety.

Also, where is the pain located? Mine is 1 in above belly button. Is that common with ibs?
