New to this... Looking for some support
« on: August 14, 2014, 11:03:13 PM »
I'm currently dealing with an overwhelming amount of stress and anxiety. Over the past 6 months, I have also developed severe OCD, to the point where it's effecting my everyday life. If anyone can relate or has advice please let me know.

Hi Nicole  :action-smiley-065:

I can relate, so you have over 6 months now - Welcome aboard, I think you will really find some wonderful people here.

Have you been to a doctor yet to get a diagnosis?  And if so, what medications did your doctor prescribe for you.

I also had OCD, what kind of OCD do you have?  Mine have been about "Intrusive Thoughts" and Constant 'Check and Re-Checking'  ::)

I am very happy you are joining us, you will find many people here that can relate, and many resources to help you in your Journey to recovery and a healthy mental and physical life.

Please feel free share any information you are comfortable with  :happy0151:

Being a member here, I have found 3 great areas to help you
1.   Solid and helpful information and even a self-test quiz, VERY HELPFUL when I speak to my dr. - I would have printouts of my symptoms and self-quiz to help my doctor point me in the right directions - here are some great links to get you started :grinning-smiley-003:

Hi Nicole,

Welcome to the Anxiety Zone.  I've had severe OCD since I was 13 and I'm now 55.  I also have anxiety and depression.  For me personally what has helped most is the support of friends who understand and also SSRI antidepressants.  It's also good if you can keep a sense of humor.
