Back after couple of months unfortunately
« on: August 12, 2014, 07:59:12 AM »
I've been awesome last 6 months or so. Today though, I saw that my stool color was pale, 2 times I went, and I had a bit of nausea. Only food I've been eating yesterday is ...these things made from dough and cheese, don't know what they are called in English. I've been eating them for lunch, dinner and before bed, and as they are like bread they contain very much carbs, so don't know if that could have messed up my stool color. I usually eat very healthy. My appetite is fine.

Did any of you have similar experiences where your stool color was change from eating too much pasta i.e. since it is similar to this?

So sorry to hear you're struggling again.  I too am back after a relatively calm period.  It's quite common for me for my stool to change color depending on what I've eaten.  I'm sure after you go back to your normal eating habits that your stool go back to what you're used to seeing

Sometimes your stool can be a different shade it all depends on what you eat. I'm pretty sure it's all those croissants (that's what they are called in English by the way  :laugh3:)
I actually don't look at my stool, mainly out of fear of what it might look like, I just flush the loo and quickly leave :)

Thank you for your answers. I hope it is not gallstones or something worse. I don't remember having such a pale stool all of the sudden.

I've decided to eat a bunch of blackberries...they should make my stool go dark/black...and I'll retutn to normal meals...if after a day or two it returns to normal it's ok,if it returns to pale I guess I'll have to see a doctor.:/

If all you ate was bread products with no grain and no fruit/veg then yes, that's why your stool is pale.

And by the way, you don't need to go to the doctor if your stool is pale. If it's white or like a gray clay color and stays that way, then it should be looked into. But pale brown is not a red flag.

I ate oats in the morning and 1 peach and 1 fried chicken meat, but apart from that, for lunch, dinner and before bed I ate only bread products...don't know how much, probably more than 1kg...

P.S. If it goes back to normal I won't look at my stool ever again...nothing good comes out of it...

You at all light colored foods, of course it will be light.  I was eating a LOT of cake I made with very dark green food dye for the cake and dark blue for the icing...   I do get some mucus at times and the mucus was exactly the color of this smiley! ----  (my stool iitself was a grayish green)
When I eat a LOT of chocolate and beef I get very dark brown stools - so you eating those croissants and chicken and a peach, etc that is ALL pale colored food.   If you start eating all dark food and it is STILL pale, then I'd look into it, but I say it's the food most definitely.

You have nothing to worry about! Poo changes color depending on your diet. Eat some beets and you'll think you're bleeding out of your bum! You can look up some lovely pictures of baby poo to see what is and isn't jaundiced, if you really want. I did that once and it helped ;P

My GI physician told me that stool color variations are normal.

No doubt that it wouldn't, now just don't start a diet of chocolate, licorice and black coffee or you'll be back worried about BLACKISH colored stools! ;)

MOST anxiety occurs on a subconscious level.  JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed.  It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state
