"Password Incorrect" errors anyone?
« on: June 24, 2008, 01:27:29 PM »
Greetings everyone

A little over a week ago I attempted to install a "bridge" between the Anxiety Zone forum and Member Blogs in order to eliminate the need for existing Anxiety Zone members to have to login twice and to make it more convenient for them. However, the process did not go as smoothly as I had hoped and so I quickly uninstalled the bridge and assumed everything was fine.

Later, when attempting to login to the forum here, I was denied access and a message appeared indicating that my password was incorrect. After some investigating, I came to realize that the bridge script had changed my Anxiety Zone forum password to my Member Blogs one and so I ended up having to change my password back to what it was originally (through my profile). My personal avatar was also missing and so I had to re-upload it.

In looking through the error logs, I can see that a lot of members here seem to have been unable to login to their accounts as well. For example, I see a lot of "Password incorrect" messages. I was just wondering if some people are simply forgetting their passwords, mistyping them or if the forums have indeed been affected by the bridge I recently installed and everyone is experiencing this problem.

I'd really appreciate some input on this so I can make an attempt to fix it. Please post in this thread and explain the exact nature of your login/missing avatar problem (if you are/were having one) and I will do my best to deal with it. If you do have trouble logging in, please do not create a second account (people won't know who you are anymore) but rather, simply request a new password and login using your new password.

Thanks again for your help in resolving this issue.

- Warm Regards, GreyGoose

Registered members of Anxiety Zone are now required to register separately for chat room access. This means it will be necessary to click on the blue "Register!" hyperlink above the little "Chatting Now..." window, create a profile and then on the next page, click on the "Start FlashChat" link. Then, you can type in the user name and password you chose when you registered. I hope this helps.
