I cant stop repeating it in my head.
« on: July 12, 2014, 11:30:27 PM »
Help help help i need help.

I know i am slightly hypochondriac.
But I fought off all my problems with OCD and touching things and what not. I fought everything.. i stopped eating candy. stopped eating meat mostly.
I eat only raw foods mostly and breads that are glute free etc.

But today yesterday i made the most stupid mistake in my life ever.

I ate a longbread that had weird brown spot on it and a hole in the bottom.

I cannot even list the amount of scenarios that are going through my head.
What if someone did something to the long bread.
What if it has a chemical in it that will give me cancer.

The biggest reason all these are going through my mind.
Is because after i ate it. I got immense stomache pain. And i have only slept a few hours. And my wrists feel numb. I have strange tingles through my whole body and its all originating from my stomache.

I am so scared
i know for sure im gonna get cancer from this now.
All my hard work for avoiding has been for nothing.

And theres this thought in my head that is just saying. this time you are getting cancer for sure.

I am worried im gonna do something stupid.

Please i need help.

please.

I can honestly relate to what you´re going through, I suffer from severe OCD too and my mind has become an expert on adding plausible scenarios to all that happens in my life.

The good thing in this specific case is that you are absolutelly right in the reasoning you present as pic texts. The "hole" (which realy is a tear) are w/o the shadow of a doubt from the tray it´s been on. I.e. a piece simply stuck to the tray, the black/brown spots are just slightly burnt bread and by no means anything that is going to make you sick. That I can assure you =)

That bread is fine. You are fine.  This is the cycle of HA:

You haven't eaten something like the bread in a while.
You ate the bread.
Your stomach hurt (natural reaction for a stomach that hasn't processed that type if food lately)
The stomach ache triggered anxiety (que tingles throught the body...originating from the very place the symptom started)
Tingles create even more anxiety and your bodies senses are officially on overdrive.

The only way to turn it off is to realize the truth of these things.

You ate the bread..billions of people everyday eat bread.
They don't get cancer.

You can either let this consume you,
Or you can let it go.

The biggest problem with us HA'ers is we live like we've already been diagnosed.
So try and live for what you are in the moment...healthy.
