Anyone have tips for going to the dr about anxiety?
« on: July 12, 2014, 03:53:50 PM »
I'm going to the doctor this week about my anxiety for the first time. I have been on anxiety meds before (about a year ago from my previous doctor for health anxiety) but this is the first time I'm going to talk strictly about my anxiety with my current doctor. I'm really nervous about it. Does anyone have tips about talking to your doctor about anxiety? How should I bring it up? Will I have to get blood work? I've read that thyroid issues can cause anxiety but I had my they round tested a year ago and it was perfectly fine. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Dont be afraid to tell them anything. Lay it all out every symptom. Theyre there to listen. Its ok to get upset as well. Ive cried many times to my dr. Their job is to help you get on the right track to getting better.

Hi Anxious,  :action-smiley-065:

I would strongly recommend that you access these self-quiz tools and print them out and take them with you to your doctor's visit.

This will greatly assist your doctor in getting the help you need.
