drivers license
« on: July 08, 2014, 05:09:44 PM »
i'm 21 (almost 22 in a month) and can't drive (legally)

i've taken my drivers test 3 times and failed. can't really get past the parallel parking part. i hit the cone every time but when i practice i do perfect
the last time i tested the instructor told me to calm down
it's really embarrassing, and difficult since i live in a very rural area and can't do anything without driving.

i know that i can do it and have been trying my best to ignore everyone's comments and ridicule about me NOT having a license.
any advice? anyone else out there who is in the same boat or was at a time

i just want to get through this so i can drive myself places i need to go.

ps- i'm pretty much on my own. i don't have anyone to help me practice or the funds to take additional driving lessons.

I doubt I could parallel park to save my life, so don't feel bad.  I've probably parallel parked three times in the last 30 years.  I don't really understand why that has to be part of the test.  However, since it is, I guess you just have to keep trying.  All I can suggest is to keep practicing and work on imagining yourself doing well on the test.  Take your time and breathe deeply.  Keep telling yourself "I can do this, I can do this".  You will pass eventually, so just hang in there.
