This gave me something to smile about a little bit of hope. I am new to the whole anxiety thing, so it's great to know you can get help!

Beautiful post man.  I would donate a kidney to be without the symptoms I have or to be able to produce a simple, elegant, and efficient story such as yours.  No joke.  I'm happy for you.

Thanks very much for your post. It can be so hard to stay posative. Feeling alone and like a burden to family and friends. I am trying meds for the first time and looking for a therapist. Some days are better than others and I am very thankful for that. It is always good to know you are not alone.

I do not understand the following portion of your posting:
"Then, as all was lost, something wonderful happened. He smiled as he shifted in his chair and offered me hope, like a desert thirsting for rain. He said he understood. He said its a common mental ailment. He talked about therapy and medication, who i now call Med my friend. It brought me freedom to walk ,think, smile, breath, and live again."
What were you given? Was it a medication? Was it herbal? Please let me know.
Thank you.

Thank you for that. I have the exact same problems. Nobody seems to understand, and they look on me with pity as if I'm a mental case.

I know I am just one more person with nothing new but this is a wonderful thought.  I have great trouble sometime accepting that I need the biochemical balance supplied by a medication-- and I am a scientist in the medical profession!!! You would think I would know better.  Thanks again for such a  beautifully expressed thought for all of us.

Very inspiring story! It gives me hope to know that I am not alone in this, I think I might see a psychiatrist just because of this story. Maybe I can get a new one through my doctor, thanks a lot!

This reminds me so much of my psychiatrist. I've been dealing with
Anxiety for 14 years (I'm 16) and nothing worked until I got referred to him. That man really did help save my life.

I'm new here. I have had anxiety for years but two weeks ago I had an attack that sent me to the ER. For the past two weeks, anxiety and panic has consumed every thought and minute of my life.  I have three little girls that I am trying to take care of so they won't notice the change in me. My husabnd is wonderful but he needs his sleep (it's 3am as I sit here watching TV and working on my computer trying to keep my mind off of ME!!) I just want the old me back.  I've tried to make appts with a psychiatrist but they either don't take new patients or can't see me for a month! I can't wait that long. I cant eat, sleep...smile. This post made me feel a little better-thanks.

I feel as though just people understanding that this is a common medical ailment-i tell others who don't understand my anxiety and why i need to take pills,-you wouldn't tell a diabetic to not take their medication, it saves their lives,it helps them, this is why i take my meds, it helps me, if i had a cast on my arm people would understand that i had broken my arm-but i have no cast for my brain-this is why i think it is hard for people to understand-it cannot be seen, some days are good some days are bad, and when it is bad -it really sucks. This is just my opinion, and how i deal with explaining my illness.
