Hi board! I haven't been here for a while.
Anyway, my number one rule is don't google, but my second is to not wear out my welcome at the doctor's office, which is why I'm wondering if anyone here can shed some light on this before I break rule number two.
For a few weeks now I've felt as though there is some catarrh/nasal drip/mucus or whatever building up in the bottom of my throat, kind of around the hollow area. It just stays there and, sometimes it's okay, others it feels really thick and congested. I think it might be nasal drip but I'm not sure. Anyway, it makes it hard for me to breathe when lying down at night - I have to sleep semi-propped up. There's also a slight wheeze sometimes, but I know my chest is fine as it's been checked recently. I'm wondering if it's excess nasal drip, but why has it been happening for so many weeks?
Hot drinks can aggravate it. I was thinking I might have developed an allergy to something, but there really seems to be no pattern to this feeling. It's always there, only sometimes it's worse than others. There's no sinus pain. I've tried nasal and throat catarrh relief medicine but it's not making it go away.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
