Is this the first time you've ever experienced anxiety?
When I had my first anxiety attack, I didn't know what happened. It would be a few years before I found out what "it" was called.
I like the idea of laying in front of a fan. I used to lay down with the vacuum cleaner on it's side, running, to calm down.
Maybe the hum of the white noise is calming to you.
But I would say you can try to calm down....as you are doing with the fan.
If you have a massager mat, try laying on it. I have one now, and it's wonderful...it doesn't have a timer so it just keeps on going until I turn it off. Very relaxing.
