frustrated
« on: July 03, 2014, 06:37:43 PM »
Ive been having headaches for 5 months now and saw my dr 3 times. First time, he said its sinus related and prescribed me antibiotic but it didnt help. Second time, he said its atypical migraine and prescribed me meds and said he'll get me an mri next time. I went back today and he said he doesnt want me to get an mri and wants me to see a neuro instead. So frustrating cuz its been 5 months since i had headaches and he doesnt think i need an mri

He's probably not jumping at the chance to send you for an MRI because he doesn't think you need one.  The vast majority of headaches are harmless.  And having anxiety, you're more likely to have things like tension headaches and migraines.  If the neuro thinks you need an MRI they'll send you for one.

If it was anything serious, you'd be experiencing more symptoms like seizures, weakness, double vision, etc. Headaches are a very common occurrence in normal, healthy people (I get them every day). I wouldn't worry about it if I were you, and I assume your doctor isn't worried if he didn't order an MRI.
