My cheek muscle fell asleep and was tingly...wtf?
« on: June 29, 2014, 06:39:27 AM »
My left cheek muscle on bone there fell asleep last night.... It got the pins and needles just like an arm or hand would. I'm not sure if I was laying on that side of my face or maybe my anxiety was high last night but that has never happened.

Seriously is that serious disease or something or from my neck or anxiety or what could it be.. Bella palsy stroke tumor MS ... I could hve been leaning against it and the pond and needles last thirty seconds and was fine but I'm not really sure if I was leaning against it or not... And again of course it has to happen when I feel off balance it has to be something serious

Valley, I know what you are going thru. I have a hard time believing I'm healthy with the symptoms I have. But numb and tingling is very very very common for anxiety. I've had it in my cheek and I hated it. Bell's palsy usually comes on suddenly, and there's other things that happen along with it. I worried about that as well.  And I
Still trying to get over my fear of brain tumor. I know it's hard to deal with.  Especially the dizziness crap. That's a bad feeling.

I know you saw a neurologist not long ago so just him I know it's hard to do. Anxiety is hell. It makes us feel literally sick.  :(

Thanks KMJ. The "falling asleep" feeling that occurred in my left cheek was first time I got that. I didn't have drooping face or eyes or anything else. I would think a brain tumor symptoms wouldn't let up right? And my blood pressure is pretty good I shouldn't have a stroke. I have no idea really.

Yes the falling asleep feeling is common. Let me ask you this, when you walk are you usually nervous? Even if you aren't, this feeling in the cheek is a stress indicator even when we are not anxious but our bodies are stressed out from all of the worries we have about our health.

I don't think it's a brain tumor at all. I think it's anxiety. As hard as it is to believe that, it can do so much to us and make us feel like we have every disease out there. I never realized what it could do until now. It's crippling.

I am nervous all of the time even though I have no reason to be. Last night I was laying down in bed. It was maybe 10 PM. I got a wierd rush of adrenalin in my head like a panic attack wanted to kick in, but I kind of didnt let it. 15 minutes later. The left side of my face , not my entire face from forehead to chin, just a portion by my cheekbone fell asleep. I rubbed it, it went away. After the pins and needles of course. I do not remember if I fell asleep on it for the 15 minutes though. No clue how I dont remember either. But that couldnt be it, because I am sure it would have happened in the past.

I wonder if it was a warning sign of a stroke. I know it came brief and only lasted 30 seconds and dissipated after some rubbing.

Stroke
TIA
Brain tumor
M/S

Especially with my lightheaded off balance feeling that I've had for months, and my eyes feeling shaky and jittery when trying to focus. Yes I felt great for the past week, no anxiety! Then yesterday morning and last night, BAM Left cheek feeling.

I'm nervous all time too and as long as we stay nervous our bodies fight or flight response is on full alert so therefore we will feel all kinds of crazy things going on. It's a nasty cycle! You are not alone. It's gonna pass. We just got to try to get a grip on our thinking, and our emotions.

I asked a dr in healthtap about strokes before and they told me they do not linger. They happen quickly and there's usually serious signs of it being a stroke. I don't think it's a brain tumor or any other illness. Anxiety is sneaky. It keeps up on us when we least expect it.
