I think I conquered this (for now)
« on: June 27, 2014, 12:51:21 AM »
I had many years of this health anxiety disorder

I don't know for sure but for the past 2 years I feel like I am much better.    I think what has helped me the most is experience.

I mean knowing that weird symptoms that can last days, weeks, months even years are really just part of the human experience.   Most of these mean nothing.    They just go away.     Sometimes they mean something but most the time they don't.

We of course gravitate to that sometimes, but now I tend to gravitate to "I don't give a f*** about you Mr. Symptom" and just get on with things.

So the key is to assume symptoms, even ones that last a while are probably nothing.

Spots, lumps, headaches, heart palpitations, tingling in extremities, numbness, buzzing, weird tastes in your mouth - IGNORE THEM ALL.
